The Minor Atom Blue Select, Rangers, led by coach Gino DiGiulio, won the Gene Harrington Tournament which took place on December 6 – 8 in Niagara Falls, USA. Gene Harrington Tournament started back in the early Seventies, and have grown considerable over the years. Their popularity in both the US and Canada makes the event one of the most popular International Hockey Tournaments in North America. This year they have hosted approximately 250 teams from Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NY, NJ, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, Michigan, Illinois, Rhode Island, Washington DC, Maryland, Maine, and Ontario, Canada. The diversified field of teams combined with a two goal average game differential created an incredible level of excitement, and delivered a memorable event for all that attended and especially for the Rangers who became the 2013 champions.
The Ranger’s achievements continues in Canada in which they are currently in second place. They reached the final for the Canada Hockey Tournament and whether they will clinch the first or second place depends on results of a game between two other teams. We will know by end of next week.
We encourage you all to follow and support the Rangers.
